I had a grand day in Cape Town. It was worth the effort to get here. I can now cross it off my Bucket List despite having five more days here.
My feet are tired, my belly is full, and my camera is warm from activity. Stated with a 6:30 am breakfast and an 8:15 am pickup with Phillip of Ilios Travel. We added two Australians (from Albury Wadonga (Elizabeth they live less than fifteen minutes from Yackandandra) and they made the day even better as you will hear later.
First stop was Table Mountain since it was a clear day. We were very lucky as it was a clear day on top since converging weather systems usually make for clouds on the mountain. Also, today was a South African holiday (Worker's Day= Labor Day) and most businesses were closed. Table Mountain is 3,500 feet above sea level and looms over the city. Driving part way up the mountain, you take a gondola car for the last 2,500 feet. On top you walk around the fynbos and can look out in all directions at the city, the sea, and other mountains.
